Constitution

ARTICLE I
Section 1: Name
This organization shall be known as Kansas State University Students for the Right to Life.
Section 2: Purpose
The purpose of this organization will be to strive to peacefully inform, educate, and protect all life from conception until natural death.
ARTICLE II
Section 1: Membership
Membership shall be open to all Kansas State University students. Any non-student may be associated with Kansas State University Students for the Right to Life as an Honorary Member. Membership dues of $5.00 will be charged to all voting members on an annual basis at the beginning of each academic school year.
ARTICLE III
Section 1: Officers
Kansas State University Students for the Right to Life is led by four student officers – President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
Section 2: Selection of Officers
Officer elections will take place at the end of each academic school year. Their term will run throughout the next academic school year.
Section 3: Duties of Officers
The duties of the officers are as follows:
President: The President shall preside over all meetings, and act as representative on appropriate occasions. He/she will have the power to establish committees as the need arises. The President shall also be responsible for providing an agenda for regular scheduled meetings.
Vice-President: The Vice-President will assume duties of the President in the absence of the President. He/she will work along with the President to accomplish all that is needed.
Secretary: The Secretary shall record the minutes of all meetings and be in charge of the distribution of such minutes. He/she shall stay abreast of all constitutional amendments made by the organization. The Secretary shall also be the main communications person.
Treasurer: The Treasurer is in charge of all financial responsibilities of the organization. As part of their office, he/she will also be a member of the Fundraising Committee.
ARTICLE IV
Section 1: Meetings
Kansas State University Students for the Right to Life shall meet at least once a month on a consistent schedule during the school year. Location and agenda of regularly scheduled meetings, as well as the announcement of special meetings, will be provided through e-mail by the Secretary.
Section 2: Meeting Specifications
Quorum shall be a simple majority of all members.

ARTICLE V
Section 1: Committees
Committees include the following: Outreach, Publicity, Historian, March for Life, Fundraising, and any special committees appointed by the President.
Outreach: The Outreach Committee shall strive to build up membership and to promote activities and meetings put on by the organization. This committee works closely with the Publicity Chair to promote activities.
Publicity: The Publicity Committee shall work with the Outreach Chair to inform the general public and other groups of activities.
Historian: The Historian shall preserve the activities in a visual fashion to be displayed at various promoting events.
March for Life: The March for Life Committee shall coordinate the March for Life trip.
Fundraising: The Fundraising Committee will be responsible for building up and maintaining a financial balance for the organization.
ARTICLE VI
Section 1: Amendments to the Constitution
The procedure for amending the Constitution includes advance notice in the meeting agenda, a required vote for adoption, and a vote by a quorum of members.
